Mission & Goals
Mission
The mission of the department is to ensure that graduates can successfully employ knowledge generally considered to be part of the fields of electrical and computer engineering technology. This includes developing an understanding of the need for continuous learning through structured education, applied research, and professional affiliation.
Program Goals
Because most associate degree graduates will be electronic technicians, these graduates will:

be able to analyze and modify electrical and electronic circuits.

be able to write, analyze, and modify computer language programs.
Only those students who have received an associate degree in ECET from IPFW or another accredited institution may enroll in the bachelor's degree program. The bachelor's degree graduate will:

demonstrate competency in the operation of industrial instrumentation.

demonstrate competency in circuit and device modeling.

demonstrate competency in design using currently available devices.

demonstrate competency in programming.

demonstrate competency in technical writing and communication.
