Dr. Hongli Luo Joins the Faculty
Dr. Hongli Luo joined the CEIT faculty as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology in August 2006. She received her doctorate from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida in June 2006. She received her BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Hunan University, China.
Professor Luo’s area of expertise is in multimedia networking, quality of service, network security, and web applications. The title of her dissertation is “Secured and Adaptive Transmission Rate Control for Multimedia Networking”. Her Ph.D. work focuses on how to provide quality service and security for multimedia transmission with an efficient utilization of network resources. She also has extensive experience in the web and database application development. She received the award for “Excellence in the Research and Application of Advanced Computing and Internet Technologies to Further NOAA’s Service to the Nation” at the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) TECH 2003 conference. She is currently serving on a program committee for an upcoming IEEE conference.
Professor Harold Broberg was, for the third time, appointed department chair of ECET on October 1, 2006.
