2007-2008 ECET Scholarship Recipients

 

Awards will be made based on the following criteria:

  1. Full-time students will be committed to completing either the associate or baccalaureate degree on a full-time basis and have taken at least 12 credit hours in the Fall 2006 semester and also in the Spring 2007 semester.  MUST plan to take at least 12 credit hours for the Fall semester 2007.
  2. Part-time students will be committed to completing either the associate or baccalaureate degree on a part-time basis and have taken at least 3 credit hours in the Fall 2006 semester and also in the Spring 2007 semester.  MUST plan to take at least 6 credit hours for the Fall semester 2007.
  3. Must have a GPA of 3.0 (B average) or greater in the major.
  4. May not be involved with a company tuition refund program, but must be paying for the education from their own resources.  However, may be receiving other financial aid including other scholarships.

AWARD BASIS:
The department and the dean's office will select the students based primarily on scholarship, and secondarily on need.


ENTRY DEADLINE:
The application must be submitted no later than March 1, 2007.

DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2007. Scholarships vary in amount and availability each year and most are awarded in April. For more information, contact 260-481-6338. Additional scholarships may be available through Financial Aid (481-6820).

Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science Scholarships for Excellence (All majors)
Criteria:
Students can be full-time or part-time. Full-time students will be committed to completing either the associate or baccalaureate degree on a full-time basis and have taken at least 12 credit hours in the Fall 2005 semester and also in the Spring 2006 semester. MUST plan to take at least 12 credit hours for the Fall 2006 semester. Part-time students will be committed to completing either the associate or baccalaureate degree on a part-time basis and have taken at least 3 credit hours in the Fall 2006 semester and also in the Spring 2006 semester. MUST plan to take at least 6 credit hours for the Fall 2006 semester. Student must have a GPA of 3.0 and not be involved with a company tuition refund program. Scholarship is also available to incoming freshmen.

American Electric Power (AEP) Scholarship Program
Criteria: Student can be full-time or a part-time continuing student or an incoming new student. Student must have a financial need and preference will be given to a minority student.

Dr. Maurice S. M. Lam Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Student must be a degree-seeking student majoring in electrical engineering or electrical and computer engineering technology. Student will be selected on the basis of merit, with financial need a secondary consideration. This award alternates between ECET and EE. This year's recipient will be ECET.

Fred R. Gideon (ECET)
Criteria: Student should be full-time, but will consider part-time, majoring in ECET. Preference will be given to a financial aid student with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

IPFW Ronald C. Emery Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Student must be a full-time degree-seeking student majoring in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. The student may be an incoming freshman or continuing student. Preference will be given to a financial aid student with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or higher.

Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Indiana Chapter Scholarship
Criteria: Student must be a U.S. citizen and be majoring in electrical engineering, electrical engineering & computer technology or computer science. Student must be full-time and have a superior academic record.

Northeast Indiana Engineers Society
Criteria: Student should be a sophomore or junior and in a curriculum leading to a B.S. in engineering or engineering technology. Student must have graduated from a high school located in northeastern Indiana (contact department for list of counties). SEPARATE APPLICATION.
