Students majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science or anyone that can use ECET 305 as a technical elective.The only prerequisite for this couse is at least one course in programming such as Visual Basic, C or Java.

This program seeks to provide an international experience for students in the Electrical and Computer fields. Students participating in this project will be granted 4 hours of credit in ECET 499, which could be used in their plan of study as an ECET elective. These hours can also be used as an elective in the Computer Science department.
Students will team up with students from the University of Kuala Lumpur (UKL) and work on an assigned design project. Graduates who have experience working with other cultures would be extremely valuable to many corporations with international offices. A number of U.S. companies which have manufacturing operations in Malaysia include Motorola, Altera, Xilinx, Texas Instruments, Seagate and Intel. Students will have an opportunity to visit a number of these facilities during their time in Malaysia.
Also while in Malaysia students will have an opportunity to visit PutraJaya (the new government headquarters), Petronas Twin Towers (world’s tallest buildings), Malacca, Penang Island, and Singapore.
Iskandar Hack, associate professor of ECET at Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne, will lead this trip. He taught in Malaysia for three years and has visited Malaysia approxemently 30 times since his return to the US.
